Destination Smiles

I thought I’d be writing about building #1. Walking to the door. Finding it locked. Wrong place.

I then thought I’d be writing about building #2. Different complex. Also locked.

I felt confident that I would still certainly be writing about building #2…I did because I called and got directions to the door on the left. Wrong place.

I knew now that I’d be writing about building #3. Directed there, we’d be arriving soon. Wrong place; should have guessed.

It was building #4 where we found our Auntie Phyllis. Patience and perseverance put us there before bedtime.

In this beautiful building #4 my sweet little girl was such an angel.

She shared her baby. She adored Auntie’s teddy. They sat and smiled back and forth; smirking and flirting. Each was enamored.

With few audible phrases from Phyllis, it was so special to hear that Abby had made her day…how perfect the moments were…and how great the hugs felt.

The calm and the smiles. Abby knew just what was needed for this visit…once I could navigate our destination.

Old is good

Mom and Julie006

I picked an old photo tonight.

Not just sorta old, but very old.

Old can be good.

I was told tonight that my computer is old. That I should try new.

Although my iPhoto library has crashed and my computer memory is near full, I choose to try to problem solve.

Old is just the beginning. The beginning of great relationships and journeys through solutions.

Milestones

Milestone: An action or event marking a significant stage in development

Our day was a celebration of milestones; two, in fact.

1 – Abby started her new swim class, Back Float Baby Level 3.

2 – Great Grandma Lois had a 99th birthday party in Mora, MN.

Milestones at each point in our lives are important to honor. Whether it’s big or little and whether no one else would look twice, celebrate each stage or change. Celebrate each little step or large breakthrough. Clap. Smile. Dance.

Abby ensures that I clap, smile, and dance; we are celebrating her milestones everyday. Today the fun was a new swimming experience and bringing joy to the aging in a nursing home.

From 1 to 99, many milestones. Each event to be a real red carpet experience.
