The Best Day Ever

Mr. Sun came up and he smiled at me
Said it’s gonna be a good one just wait and see
Jumped out of bed and I ran outside
Feeling so extra exsatisfied

It’s the best day ever
It’s the best day ever

I’m so busy got nothing to do
Spent the last two hours just tying my shoe
Every flower, every grain of sand
Is reaching out to shake my hand

Soon Mr. Moon will be shining bright
So the best day ever can last all night
Yes, the best day ever’s gonna last all night now

It’s SpongeBob and Abby. Optimism always.

SpongeBob sang it…see above.

Abby said it…with the tenderness I love.

I’ve missed much of making known, the “best days ever” that Abby owns.

So here goes…

We purchased skates, in just her size. The “real ones” that she recognized.

Central Park, a family skate. Put on the calendar to celebrate.

The best day ever, she knew it’d be. Patiently waiting until almost three.

Bundled in her layers of clothes, from morning ’til tis time to go.

Finally her feet met the ice. Mike, Grandpa and cousins gave good advice.

Their guidance and their helping stear, generated smiles from ear to ear.

No matter the falls and climbing up, her persistence was amazingly tough.

Regardless of spills, the planned “the best day ever” of course is. SpongeBob and Abby illustrate this.

Thanks for the day enjoyable. Making her dreams unquestionable.

The Dark Side

From the sunny school departure, we embark upon an intersection of change.

As we turn the corner, pow, the clouds in front of us define grey and ominous.

Without hesitation I hear from the back, “We’re entering the dark side!”

I knew at that point what I’d be writing in my blog tonight.

Bright, Basketball and Bunnies

Loving the weather before snuggling in to watch a movie.

Bright chalk on the sidewalk.

Basketball games with dad and friends.

A baby bunny in the neighbor’s yard.

The signs of summer. June is here.

(the 3rd gloomiest May since the 1960s…nice to wrap that up)

Counting

Abby is able to count the total number of nice days that we’ve had this spring.

Her counting has improved…but certainly not more than ten (skipping a couple of digits along the way).

We enjoyed a bit of outside time tonight.

Imagination. Energy. Curiosity.

She sure showed smiles.

We’re counting these beautiful days.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

…a beautiful day for a neighbor…would you be mine…could you be mine…won’t you be my neighbor

Yes, out in the neighborhood!

Even Mr Rogers would be amazed that it took Minnesota this long in 2013 to escape the winter weather.

A snow storm last week.

Sun and sand now.
