Clothes as hair upon her head
Every minute, laughter shed
A new expression every day

First this, then that.
First potty, then breakfast.
First dinner, then play outside.
First get dressed, then go to school.
Life is filled with the simple direction of sequence.
Tonight…
First pick up the blocks, then sit on mommy’s lap.
AHHHHHH!
An unexpected fit as she pushed to my lap.
Turning her to the blocks was a battle of wills and somewhat of strength.
Finally a fit on the floor. Crying. Pouting.
I reminded her…first pick up the blocks, then sit on mommy’s lap.
Immediately, suddenly, the proposal was good and the blocks went back to the bucket.
HMMMMMM?
No matter the logic, something was clear…this was now more fun than any lap.
She filled up the bin and dumped it again. Again and again and again and again.
Amidst the errands today, we happened upon a garage sale.
I couldn’t resist that house at the end of the driveway…and not the one with the address.
This house was for dolls and I knew my doll would love it.
After a haircut (again…why does she never sit that well for me :-)), we went home to clean the new the member of our toy family.
I sprayed it down and the wiping began.
We wiped every inch of every piece dry. Mac protected the final product.
Strangely, when time to bring it inside, she picked up a house and headed away. Maybe the dolls would be playing with the big slides and tables today?
It’s now in her room…the tables, the chairs, the slide, the vacuum.
We love it.
Abby is able to count the total number of nice days that we’ve had this spring.
Her counting has improved…but certainly not more than ten (skipping a couple of digits along the way).
We enjoyed a bit of outside time tonight.
Imagination. Energy. Curiosity.
She sure showed smiles.
We’re counting these beautiful days.
“Everyday more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera.”
A new commercial that only now emphasizes the disappointment that I have this evening.
Upon stopping to see Alice play soccer and Andy play baseball, I am quickly aware that I left my phone in the car.
On this beautiful evening of funning and running I didn’t permanently capture the visual memory for all to enjoy.
I sit now to burn that snapshot in my head.
Kicking. Climbing. Throwing.
Sports fields and a playground. The places that summer and smiles are made of.
The energy of children contagious.
We had such a great time!
