Abby. When asked her activities today, she simply stated, “I had an early meeting”.
“Grandpa’s my cousin”.
Talking to Abby at dinner, one would wonder; weird?
No, not weird, just a child learning the complexities of family.
And this is the most simple part.
Dressing herself this morning, she proudly pointed to 3 Ts as the optimal outfit.
Who knew that the baby needed make-up?
Who knew just how good ice cream could be?
Who knew that even a princess needs a jacket now and then?
Abby knows!
Her history short; but 3 1/2.
Her experiences many. And many new ones to come.
Thanks to everyone for making the move easy for me and special for her.
“Uncle”, the hero. For creating a sand sanctuary.
“Grandpa”, the great. For exhibiting so much patience as she “helps” with his projects.
To all for showing love and leadership.
For modeling what it means to be family.
For putting together our forever home.
I have been enjoying watching her grow into the creative soul that she is.
So caring and full of life…
So inquisitive…
So much shines in what we adults often see as “Goofy” imagination.
Much also in the silence of rubbing her babies or reading the books from her “library”.
Let’s face it.
Even the twos don’t prepare you for the threes!
I find it challenging to compose at the computer this beautiful blog when time-outs and write-ups are a regular part of our daily existence.

Teachers are excellent role models.
