Life Lessons

“I went poopy on the potty!”.

She’s corrected, “You went messy on the potty,” dear. That’s the nice way to say it.

“That’s the nerdy way to say it Grandma!!”

(I couldn’t have laughed harder)

Potty Chart

A visit to the dollar store.

Handy markers. Encouraging stickers. Neon pink paper.

Today the birth of the Potty Chart.

Various serious about the motivation, Abby focused intensely on the opportunity to earn her reward.

Cross your fingers.

Potty Chart 114…and Abby’s art. We co-created the pink posters for our home.

She’s positively proud.

First Potty

First potty tonight! First potty in the potty chair.

She was sitting while the bath was running. She was reading her potty book as is routine.

We peered into the bowl. We clapped. We cheered. She has no idea why I’m sure.

She received her first reward sticker to decorate the potty chair; an Elmo sticker.

First potty. Likely 1 teaspoon.

Potty Chair

We talked about it. We picked it out at Target together (Elmo of course). We set it up in the bathroom.

It’s the potty chair!

Today was the first day for Abby on the potty chair. No potty, but fun none the less.

She loves it; very grown up.

Now bath time  is potty, bath, pajamas, teeth. Routine extended.

Pee

It was Monday when I told Jeff that I had never experienced Abby peeing or pooping on me. Not during changing. Not during bathing.

Tonight while executing the bath time routine, as defined in yesterday’s post, I made it to the part where the diaper comes off. Suddenly, I realized she was peeing on my hand 🙂

I guess I spoke too soon.
